1916 Easter Rising

"A terrible beauty is born" -W.B. Yeats

During March and April of 2016 I will be in Ireland documenting the centennial celebration of the 1916 Easter Rising, as well as exploring the International Pan Celtic Festival at Carlow and some heritage parks and living history exhibits. The Easter Rising was a pivotal event in Ireland's long struggle to free itself from centuries of English colonial domination, and the centennial celebration is a major ritual event around which many narratives of national identity are in play.
